I live in a small town in Appalachia. Most African Americans here have a white parent. Young kids probably have a white grandparent as well. If you see a black couple which is rare, chances are they are successful.
Most of our criminals are white and the children of criminals. They are known by their family name and designated as “sorry”. I listen to the scanner while working and I hear a lot of the same last names.
It’s common to hear “The XXXXX’s are all bad except for the ones that are Mormon”.
