Seems like most FR’s either have never heard of Operation Mockingbird, or if they have, have not thought thru how much it’s infected the media.
You make a great point - essentially, using the Scientific Method of considering a postulation on its merits, and either rejecting or accepting it, and then moving on. For some, they might apply that to GlowBull Warming, but reject it for things like Hinckley’s activities, or 911, or any number of other big stories we’ve been “fed” over the decades. Operation Mockingbird is real, and has been officially known from the early 1950’s.
Another poster referred to “empty white house and junk like that”. Clearly, this “FR” has done no homework of his/her own, and just shrugs off others with nary a care in the world. I invite him/her to tune into the WH Live Cam tonight at 10:59 and watch it for 2 minutes.
Men trying to take out other men has been a thing for millennia. If the discussion were just about the assassination attempt, it would be a reasonable discussion regarding evidence of third party involvement or lack thereof.
But this conspiracy theory crosses the line from “Let’s discuss the evidence” into “Uh, oh, nuttiness!” because it requires some sort of permanent “body double” that is good enough to fool everybody for over two decades and those do not exist. That’s why there is so much push back.
