Thank you for this. I’ve loved the Euyrthmics since forever.
And I imagine the royalties still flow. Sweet dreams are truly made of that. 🎶$
I remember my sister and I being fascinated by this song in many ways.
The album this was on was one of the first CDs I bought. Completely entrancing!
Let’s not forget the associated video, which added a complete other depth to it all. Annie Lennox is a very striking woman, and the video was different (in a good way) in an age when different was quickly becoming common. It cemented an image of the 80s MTV wave in millions of young kid’s minds forever.
I could swear the Eurythmics charted something before Sweet Dreams.I remember Sweet Dreams as a follow up song...but to what I don’t know!
To each his own I guess. Would rather have my toenails peeled off with a sander, than hear this song.
I watched an interview in which Lennox sang Sweet Dreams acapella. Her voice is incredible! And she’s quite the looker as well!
Youtube HD video lists 570 million views of Sweet Dreams Are Made of This. Inpressive...

sweet dreams was a bad song, made worse by them playing it all the time.
I really liked Love is a dangerous drug, but it was played maybe 1% as much.
Sometimes they play a bands worst song over and over, and never give you the good one. It’s like how they always play “money” by pink floyd, when that was one of their worst songs and definitely the worst on the album
Interesting. I have 3 versions of that song. The original, a radio cut that is a minute shorter, a Marilyn Manson cover. The Manson cover couldn’t be more different than the original. Strangely enough, I like both.
