Its inventor, Kary Mullis, died in 2019. I don't think he had much to say on the COVID issue. He did say that PCR should not be used as a diagnostic tool in general.

My claim that he said it should not be used for China Virus came from a news story which I unfortunately did not fact check.

However I suppose it is a forgivable assumption that if he said the test should not be used as a diagnostic tool it makes sense to claim it should not be used as a test for the China Virus.
