Nobody cares if Superman is black or white.
You forgot to capitalize Black. Get with it man!
True remakes of anything is grasping for $$$$$$$
Superman would have discovered the truth about his powers at 5 years old, when police shot at him in front of Jon and Martha Kent’s farm for being “in the wrong part of town”. But it must be remembered that superman landed during WW I in the mid 19teens. He went to work at the Planet in 1940. So that would make him 25 to 30 years old when he entered the world society. And the 1940’s was the start of the civil rights movement.
His adoptive parents would have instilled in him all the same values of love, compassion, mercy, and servitude that we associate with Clark Kent today, only this Clark Kent would have had to reconcile those values with the systemic racism he experiences and sees others go through as he gets older. (Whether it exists or not)
Why should he concern himself with the concerns of a society that hates people that look like him? Why not pummel Nazis at Charlottesville instead? Who needs Lex Luthor when you have our federal government hounding him for his birth certificate and calling him an alien and having half (maybe more) of the nation agreeing with him? He could fix it all if he wanted to, make them all pay so easily.
But, at the end of the day, no matter what color he is, he is still the son of Jonathan and Martha Kent, and that’s what makes him a hero. In time, perhaps the rest of the world will see it, too…if they can get past their own BS of the destruction of our society using fantasy.
