I’ve noticed a trend. The fewer new people getting the vaccine, the more new cases and deaths drop. Interesting.

Well, NOOB, spoken like a true ‘Math is Hard’ baffled individual. I guess it escaped your notice that since January as VACCINATIONS CLIMBED, NEW CASES, DEATHS AND HOSPITALIZATIONS FELL.
“The fewer new people getting the vaccine, the more new cases and deaths drop.”
To some degree that is just coincidence, and to some degree, they are both effects of getting a lot of people vaccinated already.
Since kids are not eligible for the vaccine (except for co-morbidities), and they play little role in spreading the disease, the adult population matters more than the total population.
Over 58% of adults have at least a first shot - very close to the 60% many estimated would be needed to start showing herd immunity, and that is without even counting all the additional immunity through exposure.
The case numbers are bound to drop off, as the % of the population with immunity rises to these levels.
The drop in demand for first shots was also highly correlated with the pause of the J&J shots. That was a public relations disaster, that hurt all the vaccines.
