Well, that’s maybe possible. The thing is, while there are several possible mechanisms of action, no one really knows at this point “why” it works against Covid. But the empirical evidence is so overwhelming, at least at an epidemiological level there’s no question “that” it works.
An awful lot of medical “mechanism of action” theories about various therapeutics sound an awful lot like Kipling “Just So” stories anyway.
