There is a guy that has written books and is on youtube(Missing 411) that documents all sorts of missing people. Some of them under odd circumstances. (Although a lot of them to me are - yeah, people get lost in the woods.)

They scurried towards the confluence, splashing and stumbling, and turned north around the bend at Tonto Creek. Jonathan looked back, but Jesse yanked on his arm and said, “Come on.” At first the Tonto deepened and they had to wade, then it narrowed and they had to scramble over loose gravel.

Jonathan looked back again and said, “He’s right behind us.”

They forged ahead, the canyon walls closing in, rising to a thousand feet on either side, the banks disappearing, the creek flowing faster as it filled the deep pools in their path.

There were in Hell’s Gate.
