“Worldometer has today’s daily COVID death number as the lowest number since March 23 2020.”

In many places, the lockdowns hit on Monday, March 16,2020.

One caveat, about 15 states have stopped reporting on Sundays and sometimes other days. Most are low case states but still they skew the numbers somewhat.

Sunday has always been the lowest reporting day of the week and there have been some states that haven't reported deaths on Sunday in a while.

I see that NC, MI, TN and LA are the big states that didn't report deaths today. And I know that NC, MI and LA haven't reported deaths on many if not most Sundays.

That’s why it’s always best to chart using 7-day averages to smooth out the aberrations in reporting and present a clearer picture of the actual situation and trend lines.
