The Texas case looked like a slam dunk. Trump said it was the big one. Enormous number of states wrote amicus briefs, as did many congressmen/women including my own (who has a very good reputation as an attorney in our town). Then surfing Free Republic that Friday night it was horrifying news to see the case was shot down without even hearing the arguments.
Sort of like the Cherokee Cases of 1831 and 1832 in reverse.
There were unidentified sources (which you should never take with much stock) that claim there were screams coming from the judges’ chambers when they were deciding to hear the case. Which is absolutely unheard of in USSC deliberations.
