Point One - you cannot just "sign up" for Medicaid.

If you are between age 18-65, not pregnant, and not legally disabled, it is almost impossible to get Medicaid.

Point Two - medical care in ANY hospital emergency room is the MOST expensive medical care that you can get in the USA.

Point Three - if you have medical insurance, through your job, personal insurance, whatever, they frequently will not cover ER visits if you could have received the same treatment from your own medical provider within a reasonable time.

Bottom Line...

Sorry, if you do not have your own medical insurance, the ER bill is coming to your house, and no where else.

on Holiday in another state, Sunday afternoon... I didnt have very many options and I was leaving a red Blot from a soaked T-shirt wrapped around my foot every step I took. The ER I was going to, whether I had/have Insurance or not.

Wrong state. In nys easy to get Medicaid if between 18 to 64 and not employed.its income based.
