"The Logical Song" is a song by the English rock group Supertramp that was released as the lead single from their album Breakfast in America in March 1979. It was written primarily by the band's Roger Hodgson, who based the lyrics on his experiences being sent away to boarding school for ten years. The song became Supertramp's biggest hit, rising to No. 6 on the US Billboard chart.

That’s one of those breakfasts that should automatically be served with a saucer full of wintergreen breath mints or Altoids in a little metal box.
I can imagine her calling all the customers “Hon” or “Sugar.”
Thank you for posting this beloved LP!
“Breakfast in America” holds a special place in my heart.
When I was eight, my older sister purchased this album. It wasn’t long before I “stole” it, lol. I played it constantly.
In October of 1979, my dad passed away unexpectedly. The “Breakfast” LP became a source of comfort, as strange as that may seem.
“Crime Of The Century” is an overall better album, but “Breakfast in America” is a sentimental favorite. I listen to it often.
Yes! “School, “Rudy,” the title song, “Asylum...” Great album and it evokes very good memories for me,
Probably part of the props since they were British.
On the other hand, you probably won't find many places in England or Scotland that serve chorizo and egg tacos for breakfast.
That’s one rock band that I really disliked.
As far as albums go, I preferred Crime of the Century and Even in the Quietest Moments. They were both more prog than pop, which was more up my alley.
Although at one time I did learn how to play "Take the Long Way Home" on the piano. I think I may still have the sheet music book for the entire Breakfast in America album.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard that tune. It’s not often that you see a rock band that features a clarinet.
In Sweden they have a herring dish at almost all meals including breakfast.
I know that because my brother lives there.
Not really a huge Supertramp fan, but I do know that Rodger Hodgson is a heckuva guitar player.
Thanks for posting. One of my favorites.
Always liked Hide in your Shell
No effing way. However, my favorite breakfast in Germany was raw hamburger, mixed with onion seasoning, and spread on toast...yum. Went great with coffee.
I frequently got Styx and Supertramp confused.
I was surprised when “Dreamer” popped up in the “Rocky and Bullwinkle Movie”.

Brexit in America.
I saw this tour in 79 at the Universal Ampitheater, then years later same place but with back stage passes and front row seats.
"Child of Vision" was my favorite track, used to get played on FM radio the summer of 1979 on WBCN. "Gone Hollywood" another stand-out track. That was actually the first time I ever heard of a "Taco Bell" as they didn't have them on the East Coast yet at that time.
My friend had this album in 8 track and I listened and wanted it bad. I got one too and it is a favorite that I still come back to from time to time today. Recently though, the song “O Lord is it Mine’ seems to hit home pretty good.
HA! That was my first question. I have the Paris album, as well as most of Supertramp discography. I think Crime of the Century is their best.
