I didn’t realize until today how limited they are on number of tires? They said Mercedes uses one less set of tires in practice so they can have a new set for the last segment of the race, but DeadBull had to put on a used set?

Competitors are allowed only a limited number of tyre sets during a race event: 13 dry, 4 intermediate, 3 wet. Each tyre must be marked with a unique identifier for tracking and scrutinizing during a race event.

Interesting, and the 13 dry are subdivided into three grades of rubber hardness. Since the cars are so close in performance now it appears the tire/pit stop strategy is paramount.
One commentator said they have a crew of rocket scientists with terabytes of data to make this calculation, LOL.
