I read an interview with a woman who had lived under both the Nazis and the Soviets. She said she preferred living under the Nazis because they told you what to do and as long as y0u did it, they left you alone. But, the Soviets wanted you to think in a particular way. If you didn’t the punishments were harsh, all the way up to executions. We are living with Soviets among us.
As for fighting the Children and Families legal structure, a friend had to use an attorney and a private detective to get custody of his grandchild away from DCF, who had given his grandchild to a known sex offender. The lawyer threatened the head of DCF with exposure and they gave up custody to the grandfather. The grandfather wanted to pursue them because there were other children in the pervert’s custody. The lawyer told him that doing that would almost certainly result in him losing custody. The lawyer said that fighting the state was next to impossible and they had only won this round because giving up the child was the path of least resistance. (In other words, don’t pick a fight with a 900 pound gorilla.)
