How many pine needles in the pot? Just cover whatever you have with water?

The article was vrery vague. When I’ve made it (not for several years), I did a handful or so in several cups, maybe a quart, of water. Bring washed needles to a boil (keeping lid on) or pour boiling water on the needles, and put lid on, and then simmer for say ten minutes or less, would be sufficient. No boiling the needles. Or another way might be pour boiling water on, put lid on, and let sit overnight or for 8 hours. I think I’ll give it a try tommorrow even though the fir needles aren’t new. Tastier when newly grown.

I have only made with fir, I only have 2 pines on the property and the needles are way too high.
