I've chuckled at "MARSHALL LAW" each time I've read it. I've thought to myself, "Who is this Marshall guy?"

Me too, when I see "The Martial Plan".

How many times in a typical American life does anyone have to spell “martial”, anyway?

I’m happy to protest any difference between the two, since spelling these closely related words differently is probably rare among the common speaking folk.

Besides, if Boys and Girls are whatever they say they are, then I are fer declarin’ “Marshall Law”.
