Those ≥ 65 Years of Age: 83% (up 0.1) (70.1% Fully vaccinated - up 0.3)
Cases and New Hospitalizations downward.
750 New Deaths reported (flat).
Vaccinations bounced back a bit, but still slow.
Still not much life from J&J.
Those are better numbers. Let’s hope things continue trending back up again. Seems as though a lot of places are beginning to roll out more distributed supplies and making them more easily accessible to people (e.g. no appointments).
Too bad they got to all the unresponsive 88 year old ladies like this one.
“Write-up: pt passed away with an hour to hour and 1/2 of receiving vaccine. per nursing home staff they did not expect pt to make it many more days. pt was unresponsive in room when shot was given. per nursing home staff pt was 14 + days post covid”

Think about that, the 88 year old lady had covid, there were no emergency room or Dr. visits, she was expected to die, she was unresponsive when she was given the vaccine, and she died within two hours after the vaccine.
I have also been hearing about “No Appointment Needed” vaccination options recently.
We still are on track for a continued flood of supplies, and delivered inventories are backing up to historic highs - 72 million doses on hand.
Maybe they will start having spot storage constraints, for the deep freeze storage facilities.
Not sure why they would give the vaccine to a woman who was on death’s door. Doesn’t seem like she was a good candidate. And I thought you had to be a certain point past a COVID-19 infection before the guidelines said you could get vaccinated anyway.
Apparently, J&J has been unable to fix its production problems. OWS is paying Merck $269 million to update a production lab and produce the J&J vax, but it could be months before they actually produce any. Quite likely Novavax will be out by then.
As more options like Walmart start coming online, I expect a lot of people that weren’t concerned enough to seek out a vacination, mainly the younger demo will take advantage of the increased convenience.

Perhaps another 10% or so of the populace that will feel more comfortable with a more traditional vaccine will take advantage of the Noravax vaccine before the fall.
While we’ll probably never completely rid ourselves of this bug, hopefully, we can get the cases down enough to where even the most squeamish will get on with normalcy.
They should have tried IVM instead.
That is insane. She was effectively in Hospice, and death was imminent. Yet they vaccinated her anyway. While the vaccines are "free", the home still gets to bill the insurance company (medicare in this case) for the injection, syringe, visit, administrative fees, etc. So they probably injected this dying woman for about $300. This looks a lot like medicare fraud.
Some of us have not had any vaccines for the flu or this Covid thingie and never had flu or Covid symptoms. It turns out the wife and I both HAD Covid but did not know it at the time. The sky is always falling somewhere.
How did you find out you carried the COVID antibodies?
Yeah, I rarely bother with the flu vaccines too. COVID was different for me.

Even the worst states are over 40% of adults.
My wife had a typical cold and I had a dry cough, so we saw a doctor and tested positive.
“Even the worst states are over 40% of adults.” (vaccinated).
The vaccinations target the most vulnerable, natural infections target the most exposed (high contact people).
Between those two millstones, the Public Health risks of COVID are being crushed.
Since the FedGov is paying for the vaccines, they determine distribution. They go to great pains to keep supply spread evenly, per 100,000 population. Different States are more or less efficient in getting them administered, and different areas might have other supply, like from big Military bases, or through Veterans Affairs. But overall, there drive is well spread across the Country.
