I dramatically improved my metabolic health by eating only one low carb meal per day. My numbers went from the doctor scolding me to her now asking me questions about how I did it. In spite of my success, she still tells me I eat too much cholesterol.
Good for you!
We have to have 1,000 - 1,500 mg of cholesterol a day or we will have to make it ourselves in our liver.
It’s hard to eat foods with 1,500 mg of cholesterol a day. That’s 7.5 - 8 eggs.
I went on a keto diet a couple years ago; lost about 25 pounds, in a month or 6 weeks, if I recall. Told my doctor about it; he was impressed, especially with my lower A1C. Now I hear him instructing other patients about the importance of low carb and keto diets, whereas his former instructions consistent mostly of telling patients to try eating less. (Of course, I’m sure he has other patients who told him about their experiences with a keto diet).
