Have family there, been there. Colombians are mostly a homogeneous society of Spanish descent. They are for the most part well educated, clean, industrious and very family centric. Colombia is self contained, has it’s own resources including medical and pharmaceutical industry...and no...don’t get all smart assed about cartels.
They have also been burdened with Venezuelans fleeing tyranny.
Of my travels there I have always been treated with courtesy.
Referring to Colombia as a banana republic is sheer ignorance.
