Late last week we were informed by the local fire department that they would be shutting down Pulaski Road for upwards of two days and that we would be forced to close our business during that time.

Why would it be OK for the government to decide to close down a public street, and the businesses on it, without some unavoidable need, like repairing the road?

Closing public streets for things like funerals, parades, etc. should not be the norm. If somebody died while at work at the nursery would the town allow them to shut down a street for couple of days?

I agree. I thought this would be for a few hours but 2 days?
Also there’s nothing about a funeral that can’t be done at night after business hours.
The police get paid for going to funerals but these small businesses are on the razors edge these days.
