SpaceX's Crew-1 Dragon capsule successfully splashdown at 2:56 a.m. EDT (0656 GMT) in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida near Panama City. Read our full story here on NASA's first nighttime splashdown of a crew since Apollo 8 in 1968.
Crew-1's return to Earth wrapped up the Expedition 64 mission to the space station. Returning home on Resilience were NASA astronauts Victor Glover, pilot; Mike Hopkins, commander; Shannon Walker, mission specialist and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Soichi Noguchi, mission specialist. The astronauts launched to the station on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in November.

This is the first time I can recall there being a night time water recovery.
This was mentioned yesterday. I think it’s the first night time water recovery since 1968.
We need a space shuttle : )
That’s right. The last nighttime splashdown was Apollo 8.
