Remember the Audi “unintended acceleration” scare in the 80s? Same thing, people were hitting the gas instead of the brake and then panicking and pushing the pedal even harder.
I’ve never had brakes fail outright, though I have certainly had old VW drum brakes fade to practically nothing.
There is nothing that compares to that sick feeling you get when your brake pedal sinks to the floor due to a blown wheel cylinder. (Non-power, drum brakes...dating myself)
Exactly. Not saying it’s impossible for brakes to fail, just that in most cases it’s, erm, ‘user error.’
