I once spent some time at a home for the elderly. There was a lovely lady there. According to the nursing staff her son brought her there one day and promised he would be back for dinner. The son never returned that night or anytime later. That was more than a year earlier.

Thank you for sharing that. I have three kids that are nurses in rest homes. This is far too common and should never be so. We have a real issue now with lack of appreciation for our elders and mentors. We just do not care. We owe them... Yet we care more about them not cramping our lifestyles. It really is a low in compassionate civility and humanitarianism.
