The Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City used to have some unmanned toll booths and the toll was $1.15 or some uneven number. You learned to have pre-sorted piles of coins to avoid being stranded at the red light.

I know what you mean. I drive to/from Maryland To California twice a year and if my route goes thru Oklahoma I always make sure to bring lots of quarters (it’s not worth it to get Pike Pass).
