The "we're family" script is standard. Most if not all abductions start in early childhood and a kind of Stockholm Syndrome often develops, and the "we're family" stuff is partof that.
Not saying that your dream was anything other than a dream of course.
May I ask if you are a person of strong faith? I ask because that is something that seems to put an end to such experiences.

I was agnostic until 4 years ago. I was a "SCIENCE" type. Now I don't feel as if there is a conflict b/w what we take as faith and science. God created the universe to work under certain rules and science just reveals it. Science can be wrong... until at some point it finds the correct answer.
I have considered that these entities may not be aliens but are spiritual. I've had a few discussions on here with a few others about that. I tend to think it's all the same thing. Angels, demons, aliens (or multi-dimensional beings) ... all the same phenomenon.
