UFOs have been reported since the late 40s, and if they posed a direct military threat, wouldn't they have acted by now? I'm not a scoffer, but I agree with UFO expert Jacques Vallee, and several Christian UFO experts, that UFOs are not literal flying machines, but energetic productions of a paranormal nature. Their impact on civilization is not through action of a military type, but is on the level of psy-ops, influencing our civilization's belief system.
Is it just coincidental that the messages that early UFO "contactees" claim to have received happen to coincide with New Age and left-wing themes? Back in the 50s, they were talking about one-world government, the divinization of nature, vegetarianism, pacifism, and a sort of vague Eastern mysticism as opposed to traditional Christianity.

Agreed. Just like when Sybil and The Exorcist came out. A sudden explosion of MPD and possession cases. Then the abductee thing and false memories were pushed hard in the 80s/90s.
