It seems to follow typical fall to spring rise and drop. The big fear was the way those afflicted died. Covid goes after lungs big time...and so many of the dead had preexisting conditions which would fall apart with low blood oxyvenation. Seems to be the grim reaper targeting those with bad lungs and hearts. I wish the cdc would characterize the degree of impairment of heart and lung which had the worst outcome with covid.
Yes. Which is why I am in no position to judge the efficacy of the vaccines. We just have a handful of data points. From the clinical trials they seem to help reduce hospitalization and deaths. The real world data seems to confirm that. But, I am skeptical and analytical by nature. I look at the infection and death rates from the summer of 2020 and they were at or lower than they are now. So from those data points (and a few others eg vaccination rates) I simply state that it is not enough data to draw conclusions. I hope they work. I wish to be rid of this plague.
