No kidding. Tritium already costs $30K per gram. By the time we get fusion working, it will burn more dollars per megawatt than even the Federal Reserve can print.

The way this stuff usually works is that once they get the thing perfected—then they bring in materials research supercomputers to figure out an atomic/molecular structure with similar characteristics to tritium that will do the job—but much cheaper.
