Try German, where EVERY noun has a gender. Things like a young girl is neuter, the sun is female and the moon is male.
Meanwhile the confused French and Spaniards think the sun is male and the moon is female. Silly Frenchies.
The young girl being neuter in German is the one rule that made sense: all diminutives are neuter. Mãdchen and Frãulein are therefore neuter. In three years of high school German that is the one rule I never saw an exception for.
...correct.... and I remember my high school German, any noun ending in “-ung” is feminine....die Rechnung; die Wohnung, etc.....
