I've long thought that much of the COVID disinfo is originating out of a country trying to harm America (pick your choice - China, Russia, Iran, ...) and then being spread by opportunists looking to cash in [like Tenpenny] and total lunatics [like Northrup], just like the "masks are worthless!!" (they're not, but that's an entirely different discussion) mantra.

If another country wanted to damage the US to advance their own power and position (like China), spreading COVID disinfo to keep it going and harmful to the US as long as possible would be a pretty inexpensive and effective way to accomplish that. No armies, nukes or other weapons required.
