Local policing has been the tradition and a rule since before USA was founded. The present political movement is a purposeful propaganda campaign and political power grab to remove a key obstacle to total centralized power.
Tell me if you has seen one protest, doxing, leak, media outrage, demand for defunding or investigation of any Federal law enforcement agency?
Never happen because the Feds are the ‘standing army’, for lack of a better term, for Congress and the DOJ.
There is so much redundancy in federal law enforcement and so much money wasted, it’s insane.
But, Congress and each Cabinet needs their enforcers. People talk about the IRS and paying taxes at the end of a gun. The IRS has armed agents that will come arrest you. Mind you, they tend not to be very good, but they have guns and all that stuff for a reason.
During the last ammo shortage, folks were asking why Social Security had their own armed agents. So they don’t have to depend on the FBI or US Marshals to enforce their laws and make arrests.
DHS was supposed to be an administrative entity with reps from each of the federal agencies to de-conflict investigations and coordinate. Now they have thousands of armed agents protecting the homeland. Isn’t that what the FBI is supposed to be doing?
