Given the ongoing restrictions in Canada, are they confident that they can play Montreal and Toronto?
A Trick of the Tail is still the best album.
Rick Beato did a great analysis of “Dance on a Volcano”

Check this out, from 1973, best quality film of Genesis I’ve ever seen from that era.
Anyone who questions how great Collins was on drums needs to see this.

they’ve done the border before.
That would have been the Tom Tom Club.
Sweet, gotta make sure to get tickets to this one.
I like Phil, but I would not travel to any of those cities to see him.
Mega dittos. Pre and post Gabriel are two completely different bands with the same name. It would be like if like John & Paul said “F-this!” and Ringo inherited the Beatles.
I hate a lot of Collin’s songs, but I love the guy.
He’s got a lot of back and nerve problems from drumming though, so maybe “spry” isn’t the right word. Seems pretty healthy otherwise though.
you try bangin on the drum all day...

By my reckoning, Genesis is really like 3 different bands. First you had Gabriel-era Genesis, then you had an era of Collins-led Genesis where he was basically mimicking Gabriel and they were kind of just treading water, and then finally the era of Collins-led Genesis after his solo stuff had great success, where the band went in a much more pop direction.
Personally I like both the first and third era, and the second is not bad but I could take it or leave it. But I like both progressive and pop/r&b music, so the change in direction doesn’t really rattle me like it might if I was more a purist I guess.
No thanks, I sometimes play with a drumset for 30 minutes and that’s enough aerobics for me.
I’ll stick to the keyboards where I only have to worry about carpal-tunnel :)
I thought he had a condition in his hands where he couldn’t drum any more.

I don’t care any more.
I thought so, too.
Phil came to Dallas a couple of months before the COVID lockdown. My wife and I went and we enjoyed the hell out of the show. Phil can hardly walk and needed a cane to amble up on stage. He can no longer play drums. His 18-year-old son Nic has taken over. The kid is amazing. Nic will also play with Genesis on this tour.
fruit/veggie pills dude.. I heard about it on the AM radio
sorry to hear that
