blacks in general have very low Vit D levels....it can be remedied with supplements IIRC.

That’s another truth that Dr. Cole threw out in his 28 minute presentation. He stated that the darker the skin pigmentation, the harder it is to absorb vitamin D from the sun and that many people who live above the 35th parallel are chronically vitamin D deficient, even in the summer.
Apparently, not all sunlight is effective in replenishing your body stores. We need 20 minutes without sunscreen and the best time is in the early afternoon, so that 1/2 hour walk to and from work isn’t enough, though the 1/2 hour at lunch probably is.
What you said is absolutely correct. There’s a reason I take my lunch breaks outside and eat later while working.
