My guess: Being that there student loan total is historic in levels, this might be the only way out is the promises they are hearing about student loan forgiveness. Student loan forgiveness will be something Democrats will never do. Why? They dont want to lose voters after it is complete... I say, Trump and all you non-establishment Republicans, lets go ahead and go forward to promise and give student loan forgiveness. I think the more peeps not depending on government the more voters we have EVEN though it will bring inflation and all that it. This seems like a crazy idea, and it is, but it is a good one.

Total lifetime debt burdens are far lower today than when I had a 12% mortgage, or should I say, it had me.

“loan forgiveness”

Who do you think holds most of the 30-year ~3% mortgages?

I suspect the Federal Reserve.

Any student loan forgiveness will be followed by demands for mortgage forgiveness when the next housing recession arrives.

“If you are employed by a U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government or not-for-profit organization, you might be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.”

https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service

“To qualify for PSLF, you must

“be employed by a U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government or not-for-profit organization;

“work full-time for that agency or organization;

“have Direct Loans (or consolidate other federal student loans into a Direct Loan);

“repay your loans under an income-driven repayment plan; and

“make 120 qualifying payments.”
