Reminds me of the hunt for buried Spitfires in Burma story a couple of years ago and the “Hunting Hitler” tv waste of time show.
I did some work at Lakehurst Naval Air Station (Hidenburg crash) years ago. When WWII ended they just buried a bunch of stuff that wasn’t needed anymore. Rumor had it that included in the buried stuff was something like 30 Harley Davidson motorcycles in cosmoline and crates.
