The list below was born out of some pretty serious arguments. Was Bruce Springsteen better in 1975 or 1978? When did Kanye hit his stride? Which was more awesome, “The Joshua Tree” or “Zoo TV”? The concerts and tours that made the final cut weren’t just huge spectacles, they deepened the power of rock & roll itself – from Neil Young thrashing out 20-minute jams with Crazy Horse to Beyoncé turning stadium glitz into a personal outpouring. “You’re almost levitating on the energy from the audience,” says Keith Richards. “And I miss it when I’m not doing it.” Here are the people who’ve done it best.

I remember after they had finished the whole 70 minutes of The Way Up, Pat jokingly said “Good night!”, of course they went on to still play a good hour and a half.

I also saw the “Speaking of Now” Tour, with Richard Bona. He really nailed the Jaco part of “Bright Size Life”.

I have probably been to over 20 concerts in my teens to early 30’s.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band @ the Carrier Dome in Syracuse was my most memorable. 4 hour long show. One break.

The worst was Ozzy Osborne

Although I wasn't a big fan at the time, the album sure grew on me, and I likely wouldn't have fought the logistical issues in getting to it, BUT, Simon and Garfunkel's Concert in Central park would have been one for the ages.

I saw Petty at the Binghamton Broom County Arena, general admission in 1983. I pushed my way up to about 25’ from the stage.

I HEARD Skynrd from my house three miles away from Rich Stadium Orchard Park, NY back around ‘77. My older brother went to that show. I was only 14, my mom said I could not go. I was too young.

Same thing when the Stones came there that summer.
