I’ve always said that I reserve final judgement for when all the facts are available, including where video is involved because so much can happen before the video starts or outside what the video itself captures.
But my point remains: anybody who gets off killing people should not have a badge or a gun. They should be in therapy and probably in custody. They are a danger to others. Use-of-force training is critical for police officers. De-escalation training is critical for police officers. No officer should be put in a situation where they have to risk their life or the lives of others unnecessarily because of inadequate training.
I agree with your points. I can’t tell from the discussed video whether they apply, and I refuse to be manipulated into a discussion which is prejudicial about how they do.
That is my point. We are seeing far to many video clips being used to manipulate thinking. With today’s technology, we are going to see more. A critical skepticism of what you are being shown, and why, will be a healthy response.
