That pretty much describes every Presidential administration of both parties, since Eisenhower minus the “Chinese messiah” remark.

Every administration since then has been a debt whore/internationalist/Middle-East meddler. Ike kept us out of the Suez Crisis of 1957.

Every administration since then would’ve been “all in” on that one.(including Nixon’s administration)

Since Jackson, although debt that can be manage is not a liability, the key word is manage though. Debt whore is when you become irresponsible (Especially in times when total war was not a necessity) with spending/Administrative growth and compared to revenue/liberty.

On topic and in Nixon's case, he was a debt whore and huge government guy that introduced China onto the international scene without imposing limits on imports. The country grew enough to become MFN due to Nixon's red carpet policies. Ignored Bretton Woods and the OPEC Masters (At that time). Moved the goal post to Ike for some strange reason.

In his time, Nixon was a conservative and thoroughly despised for it by the media and Dems. Ike defeated Taft for the 1952 nomination. He put Nixon on the ticket to give the conservative wing of the party something.Nixon was a Cold Warrior who exposed Alger Hiss and the left hated him for it.

Nixon was certainly to the right of JFK.

The 1968 race was between Nixon and Rockefeller. All the pundits said the Republicans should not nominate Nixon because he was too conservative and "unelectable."

Nixon did some things in office modern free market conservatives would not have done, but he inherited such a mess from JFK/LBJ he couldn't fight on every front, especially with the Dems holding both houses.

Reaganism passed 1950's conservative by and Nixon too. It's easy to throw bricks at him in 2021, but that's the error of historical anachronism the left makes so often.
