I don’t think Nixon was a saint.

I just disagree about blaming him, for every mess that we have.

Jackson completely played off the debt, only President to do so.

“One of my biggest heroes are the NY hardhats.”

Would a Humphrey or McGovern administration have invited some of those hardhats to the White House?

I doubt it.

No, but Humphrey may not have been able to spend as much, and Reagan may have won in 1972.

“Jackson completely played off the debt, only President to do so.”

Yep,

It was completely gone in 1836.

Nixon wasn't perfect but he was strong and effective leader when we needed him. The Democrats/Leftists/media destroyed him and his presidency and we are still undergoing the aftershocks of that coup against the will of the American People.

Reagan could never have accomplished the things he did without the groundwork that Nixon did, to open and then weaken the Communist bloc.

And sometimes, Reagan failed too - Remember Beirut? The Contras? The covert support for Iraq and Iran?

Nixon was a good, even great man and should be remembered with affection, not the false history written by the Leftists.
