Dominos isn’t pizza.
So for the price of a burner phone I can high Jack a pizza delivery robot to part out.....
Ok....idiots
I actually have a suction cup window mount Noid character.
...and self-driving cars have to have a driver in the driver’s seat, paying attention to the road.
Who does that in a robot pizza car?
As long as the fast food industry is not allowed to let the market determine their own labor costs via P&L you will be seeing more of these robot/droids used to replace soaring human labor costs. It’s really just that simple.
Want someone to blame then blame the unqualified politicians that are constantly mandating that these corporations pay their labor artificially higher wages without a corresponding increase in the labors productivity.
I got kicked in the Noids once
I just saw one of the commercials.
The Noid is NOT trying to stop the robot to help out, like the article’s author says. He’s trying to stop the robot from delivering your pizza, just like he always did.
I, for one, do not like the idea. I hate Domino’s anyway (their pizza tastes like crap). What I don’t like is the possibility of taking away my job. I am a Doordash driver. If this catches on, the possibility exists for fleets of robots to take over deliveries for other places. Ergo, no job for me.
(Hey, I’m 58 and I have found a line of work that I can do that fits my physical abilities and my skill level. Not looking forward to losing it. Besides, despite the hiring surge that’s currently happening, no one wants to hire “an old, white person” like me.)
I just don’t understand the obsession with driverless vehicles, robot workers, drones delivering packages...what are people, put out of jobs supposed to do to earn a living? This isn’t a Star Trek future where people spend all their time bettering their minds, this is real life where people get bored, quickly and start doing stupid things, (like posting on social media😀).
When most employees are replaced by robots, how many humans will have a job that enables to buy the products made by robots?
The resulting law suits will drive Domino’s out of business.
