My view is, the only people who want this are the hucksters trying to sell it to us.
We never got the flying cars we were promised well more than a half century ago, but we do seem to being on the cusp of self-driving cars. Would I trust my life to one? Hell no! I wouldn’t be comfortable to be in a car where the driver’s input is not part of ‘driving’.
On the other hand, I have no trouble imagining that the kids or grandkids of kids in school today will have no idea of how to ‘drive’ a car. My grandpa knew how to drive a steam locomotive as well as a team of horses, but I’d be clueless as to how to do either.
Very tough these days to find peeps that can drive manual transmission/clutch.
No one will need to own a car, it’ll be utopia!
People who drive inebriated really look forward to autonomous vehicles. So do johns who like to ‘do’ hookers in the back seat. Yeah, I want to rent that vehicle.
