THE world’s first 'floating' sky pool with a glass bottom and views from 115ft above the streets of London is opening next month.

The 82ft pool will hold 400 tons of water, and also have the best views of the billion-dollar US Embassy as well as the House of Parliament and the London Eye. The pool was shipped 5,000 miles from Colorado, and is connected to each building using technology that allows it to move as the buildings settle as well as adapting for wind sway.

Flats at The Embassy Gardens development start at £600,000, and rise to £5 million for the penthouse suite.

There are a couple of these glass bottom pools already in existence, one somewhere in the Gulf Arab States and one in China, I think. The difference here is that it is connected on all four corners. Someone can correct my memory.

I don’t recall the name of a movie in which an assassin takes advantage of his rich victim who has a glass bottom swimming pool attached to his penthouse. The killer attaches explosives to the bottom of the pool and uses a remote control detonator to send the victim in a watery dive to his death on the street below. Horrible thought.
