I found one in the ‘70s that made it through a local reef, probably Yeah that’s because there was netting over it. There are rumored to be lots of them in little coves in the Gulf of Alaska.
Flame away.
There's nothing wrong at all with cleaning up our environment, and she is doing the same thing that Iron Eyes Cody did in the '70s to bring attention to our need to do that. He had an enormous impact with his single tear message. I remember growing up seeing the roads looking like trash dumps. I used to see my father roll down the window and just throw fast food bags right out. The "Keep America Beautiful" campaign changed all of that, and now our roadways are fairly clean.
The problem is with the hyperventilating nitwits that are corrupting the message with their "world is ending" nonsense. But then, those messengers are not interested in the environment per se, but rather control, communism, money, and corruption...
Agreed.
We picked up 40+ , in the 15 day passage from Lahaina Maui to Santa Barbara CA.
All out on the deep blue sea . Many of the bigger ones had Mahimahi swimming under them . Which we usually caught . Mahi are so easy to catch
The zone where all this opala (garbage)is pooling up is probably what the now refer to as the North Pacific ‘Guire’. The doldrums; a vast body of windless, swell-less , currentless, undulating blue . We motored for 3 days to get thru it . It must be sweet by storms occasionally and the rubbish gets pushed out & about.
Certain storms will bring them to the Oregon coast.
