I’m honestly starting to believe that there’s a well funded misinformation campaign run by the Chinese Communist Party to do exactly what you’re suggesting. They’re throwing fuel on the fire started by a handful of fringe conspiracy theorists.

There’s just too much misinformation being pumped onto the site and too many who completely and totally ignore all evidence demonstrating that those statements are false. At some point, the only conclusion left is that they don’t care about the truth; just the paycheck to keep pumping up that disinformation fear campaign.
