Sorry also for the deaths you have experienced, including your mother. In my case, my cousin did not have physical issues, although he was suffering from bipolar disorder and was living in a group home.
Of the others I know, most were “mild,” except for three. One was at my wife’s firm, he ended up exposing her and then me and we were in quarantine for two weeks. Fortunately neither of us tested positive or got it. The guy who exposed us, however, has not recovered physically and is still on leave from her firm.
The two other bad cases I know were a guy who works in my firm and his wife. They both came close to dying, but got the same experimental plasma treatment Trump got, and then “recovered” fairly quickly after that. He, however, has some real cognitive issues now. He calls it “brain fog,” but he has trouble just following and participating in a conversation. Whether that is permanent or temporary is not clear.
My organization has had close to 12% of the work force test positive over the past year. They report the positive tests, (now at 93), recovered and returned to work 88, still recovering 5, and only 1 hospitalization out of all of the cases.
Zero deaths.
