Note that Senators and Congressment or any other fedgov hiree or elected official just has to be US citizen, could be naturalized. But the Constitution specifically states that the President and VP must be natural born citizens.

Disgusting how they've managed to sweep this under the rug. Chester Arthur, BO, many of the 2016 GOP candidates, now this one too.

Chester Arthur’s father was from Ireland and was not a citizen at the time of CA’s birth. IIRC he burned papers that showed that when people were doubting his NBC status.

It was known until a couple of decades ago what the NBC requirement meant.
