There are four TV stations, an "almost major" print paper and a half dozen radio stations covering the events in and for a hundred miles around Billings.
Biggest population center in Montana but it's still only a bit over 150,000 when you include everything/everybody within 30-40 miles.
Sooooo...all these Stuck-Out-In-the-Sticks "news" people have to really scratch to fill up their daily ration of broadcast time/column inches.
I've heard of 'em running fully staffed remote trucks from all four TV stations thirty miles out in the boonies for a traffic accident, those stories you pulled was a good sample of the coverage they like to get, so when I see a dozen cops/fire units roaring around and nobody says nothing I get real curious.
Talk about the dog that didn't bark.......
