India heretofore had been relatively spared from COVID. It would seem that mutant variant has evolved or has been introduced. It is causing havoc. If so, are the vaccines effective against it. Wonder if the Wuhan lab is still in business. India and China are not exactly friends.

I believe there’s something strange in India and here’s why. Johns Hopkins, the source everyone uses for Covid data is VERY FISHY. Look at the numbers being reported out of Mainland China, India and the US. The populations of each are 1.44B for China, 1.38B for India and 330M for the US. Quick math says China and India are roughly 4.5x larger than the US by population.
Assuming the US numbers are real, China and India “should” roughly have the number of cases and deaths 4.5x that in the US as worst case. However, Johns Hopkins reports 12.3M cases in India and 30.5M cases in the US. Why is the US significantly higher?
I suggest India, based on 4.5x population of the US could be expected to have roughly (30.5M x 4.5) or 135M cases not 12.3M reported by Johns Hopkins. Deaths are even stranger set of numbers. Johns Hopkins reports 163K deaths in India compared to 500K in the US. Again applying the 4.5x population size difference India’s deaths could be about (500K x 4.5) or 2.2M not 163K. Similar numbers would also apply to China and not those reported by Johns Hopkins.
I believe India is finally reporting reality and/or Johns Hopkins has been suppressing numbers out of India and China for quite a while now. Take your pick as to which and why. The Johns Hopkins numbers I used are about 2 weeks old, but for this example, close enough to make a point.
