“During the freeze, they supplied eggs, gave away firewood and one of those individuals learned that our car was out of gas, so a five-gallon can of gas arrives at our house from one of those people - so they're learning, positive things,” says Brian Johnson, Retired Army dad.
When the winter storm was over, their father decided the girls could learn a little more about being responsible and saving money...
And so the girls would make $69 a week on the eggs they sold to neighbors, that is until someone complained and the girls received a letter. A letter that stated they were ordered to obey and cease.

Really? Unbelievable.
Don’t be KKKalifornia’n my Texas, Karen. We don’t care how you did it back where you escaped from.
I’ll wager that excerpt is from the John Galt Soliloquy!
Right. Because it is the government's job to protect us from every danger that can possibly be imagined.
A paid Federal agent comes by your house 6 days a week. Their cover is "Postal Worker".
No worries, sell cardboard egg carriers and give the eggs away free to those who buy one.
They did too, especially after I told their customers WHY they were asking for donations rather than selling at .25 a cup. The boys were getting upwards of $20.00, with most giving $1 for a little cup of lemonade. I guess the customers enjoyed sticking it to the man a little. Kids were overjoyed!
What happened to being faced by your accuser? The person who complained is the accuser, I don’t care what the gub-mint says. You want to complain? then own it!
” Death to the Kulaks “
Я декадентский кулак. (I am a decadent kulak.)
“Seems as if in this instance the tax payers would be on the hook for any damages resulting from the girls selling their eggs.”
What about the right to freely contract for your goods or services with other people (which necessarily implies some risks)? Evidently, you’ve never heard of that, either.
Bow down!... Obey!... Snitch!...
👍
Well to be fair, they probably aren’t building that many new buildings or bridges around where they live....
A license is needed to sell as well as a permit.....at least in the town I live in which is in a very, very red State.
BTW I am not siding against the girls here. As I said I was simply playing Devils advocate. Others here suggested the girls could give away the eggs and ask for a contribution to one cause or another (strictly voluntary). Apparently if it is charity the rules change.
Now let us suppose some of those eggs are diseased and because of that some who bought them sicken and maybe die. Who is responsible?
Can’t have kids selling eggs, lemonade, coffee, tea, cookies-or anything else that can be legally enjoyed-this is beyond ridiculous...
No good deed goes unpunished in places where some petty tyrant and the Karens who can’t mind their own f’ing business get off on taking away kids’ ability to learn to be responsible and make some pocket money selling something that is actually beneficial-just another good reason not to live in a city or incorporated township with zoning ordinances-living a few acres away from a meth cooker in a remote area might not be much worse than living down the street from a Karen who hates to see others happy and has too much time on her hands...
Bulverde is a small place-somebody will drop the dime on that nasty Karen soon enough-spread her name around and give her an Amish style shunning-and a house and vehicle(s) decorated with eggs on the 1st dark night-country justice...
What a sorry lesson for those girls!
Ditto that! What a scumbag to complain.
Don’t you know, Comrade, all food belongs to the State!
Good post.
