Yes, my property taxes on my house in southern NH are around $8500/year. I live about 10 miles west of Nashua. Other people I work with pay over $1000/month in property taxes.
There are townships that have lower tax rates in NH.
The best ones are Tuftonboro, Moultonboro, Wolfeboro and a few others. IF you buy a house that you can not see the big lake you are literally in one of the lowest tax burden locations in the USA. The houses on the lake pay all the tax burden.

I was in Madison [just south of No.Conway] got killed w/ property taxes; what made me sell, was that No.Conway got *discovered*...and the traffic was outrageous. Wasn’t worth the hassle.
The skiing was wonderful....can’t complain there.
